The 2025 MAStermind Hackathon, hosted by Maven Asset Management, was nothing short of extraordinary. From October 29 to November 14, over 150 participants across 29 countries came together virtually to push the boundaries of Maximo Application Suite (MAS) 9.1.
Global Collaboration, Local Impact
This year’s hackathon brought together 12 teams, clients and partners alike, working across time zones, cultures, and industries. What makes this community remarkable is their dedication: participants collaborated with teammates, Maven subject matter experts (SMEs), and Maven coaches outside of regular working hours. Their commitment reflects the passion of the Maximo Community to learn, innovate, and share knowledge, even when it means late nights and early mornings.
Purpose Beyond Competition
The main objective of the hackathon is clear: to help customers and partners explore applications they’ve either never seen, never heard of, or had very little knowledge of. By completing 50 unique challenges, each participant walked away with at least three new Maximo features they explored, learned, or mastered, turning curiosity into capability.

- Teams built role-based dashboards with KPIs and quick actions for smarter decision-making.
- Health Scoring Groups were implemented with multiple score types to sharpen predictive maintenance strategies.
- Mobile workflows were configured to streamline work order management on the go.
- Reliability Strategies Libraries were tested to monitor asset health and lifecycle performance.
- KPI Templates simplified management of multiple records, reducing overhead and boosting consistency.

- Winning Partner Team: Team 9 (416 points) Both teams not only earned recognition but also contributed to a donation in their name to World Central Kitchen, reinforcing the hackathon’s spirit of giving back.
